MBB drops back and forth consolation final to #20 Salisbury

Box Score SALISBURY, Md. – The Penn State Abington men's basketball team dropped this afternoon's back and forth consolation final, 80-77, to host Salisbury (ranked No. 20 by D3hoops.com) at the Optimist Classic. "This was the best game my guys have played in my two seasons at Abington," said coach Chris Potash.

In a seesaw affair that featured five ties and eight lead changes, the Lions led by as many as five and trailed by as much as 15. In the end, sophomore guard Mike Colacci (Middlesex, N.J. / Middlesex) hit a would-be game tying half-court three-pointer just after the final buzzer sounded, dropping the Lions to 2-3 on the season. Sophomore guard Jim Williamson (Chino Hills, Calif. / Mater Dei) drew the Lions to within two when he hit a free throw to complete an old-fashioned three-point play with two seconds remaining.

Colacci and junior forward Don DeLeo (North Wildwood, N.J. / Wildwood), who hit four three-pointers, tied with a team-high 12 points, and Mike Marvin (Horsham, Pa. / Hatboro-Horsham) added 10 points.
