Langhorne, PA - The Penn State Abington women's soccer team played Philadelphia Bible today in Langhorne, PA in a non-conference game. The Nittany Lions remained undefeated as they beat the Crimson Eagles by a score of 2-1 and improved to 3-0 overall while Philadelphia Bible dropped to 2-2 overall.
Penn State Abington was quick to take a 1-0 lead when freshman Brianna Heck (Willow Grove, PA / Archbishop Wood) scored her first collegeiate career goal three minutes into the game. The Nittany Lions continued to play some great defense allowing only 4 shots by Philadelphia Bible in the first half.
Abington took a 2-0 lead at the 57:25 mark when freshman Adriana Rodriguez (Oceanside, CA / El Camino) scored her third career goal on an assist by junior Brittany Middleton (Chalfont, PA / Central Bucks South). The Crimson Eagles were able to prevent a shutout by the Nittany Lions when they scored their only goal of the game on a header off of a corner kick.
Penn State Abington controlled the game as they outshot Philadelphia Bible 13-7 and had 9 corner kicks to the Crimson Eagles 2.
