Box Score The Penn State Abington men's basketball team fell in overtime to Lancaster Bible College 103-99 on Tuesday night in Lancaster, Pa.
Abington (7-11, 4-3) led for the majority of the first half, shooting 53% and scoring 12 points off of turnovers including seven three-pointers, with
Don DeLeo hit four-for-four, to lead 51-38 at halftime.
Lancaster Bible rallied half way through the second half to start a 19-0 run, cutting the deficit to four as Abington, who led by as many as 24 points in the first half, barely holding on to the lead 77-73 at the 6:13 mark.
With 25 seconds remaining and Abington still leading 90-87, Lancaster's Darrell Epps nailed a three-pointer at the buzzer to tie the game at 90, forcing the game into overtime.
Right at the tip-off, Lancaster wasted no time and jumped ahead by six with two consecutive three-pointers within in just one minute into the start of overtime. The Nittany Lions answered back as
Will Alton and
Mike Marvin posted a combined five points to trail the Chargers by one with 28 seconds on the clock.
Despite the last minute efforts, Abington fell short as the Chargers added four more points to hold onto the lead for the 103-99 victory.
Marvin finished the night with his tenth season double double, scoring a career high 30 points and grabbing 13 rebounds. Fellow teammate,
Will Alton contributed 21 points, shooting 79% from the charity stripe.
Abington will return to action on Saturday as they host Gallaudet University at 1 p.m.
