Watson Scores 1000th Collegiate Point

The Penn State Abington women's basketball team suffered a Valentine's Day loss to Lancaster Bible by a score of 59-49 in the North Eastern Athletic Conference matchup. The Lady Lions fell to a disappointing record of 0-22 overall, 0-16 in the NEAC conference while the Chargers improve 13-10 overall, 10-6 in the conference.
 
The first stanza proved to be a back-and-forth battle as both teams went shot for shot throughout the half. The Lady Lions went 3-14 from behind the arc in the first half while the chargers went 3-10 from behind the arc. Lancaster Bible pulled away with the lead late in the first half leading by a score of 33-25 going into the second half.
 
The Lady Lions were lead by junior guard Trish Watson who had 23 points on the night. She scored her 1000th career point with 1:54 left in the second half.
 
Penn State Abington received help from Kiera Kurtz who had nine points and Kate Schalck who brought down seven rebounds. Despite coming within four points late in the second half, the Lady Lions could not contain the Chargers shooting. Lancaster Bible was lead by Lauren Heliger's 20 points as teammate Brooklyn Wilson scored 15 on the night.
 
The Penn State Abington's women's basketball team will have an action packed weekend as they go on the road on Saturday, February 18th to face the Screaming Eagles of College of St. Elizabeth. They then will return home for their last regular season game on Sunday, February 19th at 3 p.m.
