Box Score On Sunday afternoon, the Penn State Abington women's soccer team faced off with another NEAC opponent in Cazenovia College. The Nittany Lions were coming off a convincing win in the conference on Saturday when they defeated Morrisville State 3-0. The Cazenovia Wildcats arrived in Abington with the hopes to rebound from their tough 7-0 loss to conference leader Penn State Berks on Saturday.

The game started off with Penn State Abington controlling the ball for the majority of the first half. The Nittany Lions had attempts to get on the board early, but their chances were spoiled by a stingy Cazenovia defense. However, in the 18
th minute, Penn State Abington was able to get on the board when
Ashlee Kohn assisted Sophomore
Cindy Wade to the left of the field and she beat the goalkeeper to her right to give the Nittany Lions a 1-0 lead. Soon after, freshman Jacquelin Alexander sent a shot at the goalie that was initially saved but remained loose in the box and cleaned up by
Cindy Wade for her second goal of the day and eighth of the year to give Abington a 2-0 lead. The Cazenovia Wildcats showed great resiliency to try to score before halftime but the Nittany Lions' defense proved to be too much.

The second half started with much of the same with Penn State Abington in control from the start. The Nittany Lions recorded 18 shots on goal but weren't able to record their third goal of the game until the 80
th minute. Jacquelin Alexander was able to run up the right side of the field and cross it to an emerging
Jennifer Cifuentes, who was able to put it in to the left of the net to make the score 3-0. In the last minute of the game the Nittany Lions were able to tally their fourth and final goal when
Desirae Holmes sent a corner kick into the middle of the box and
Brigitta Good finished it with a header over the goalkeeper. The Wildcats had opportunities to answer with a goal late in the second half but thanks to stellar defense and goaltending Abington was able to secure the shutout.

Penn State Abington was able to better their record to 9-2 and 6-1 in the NEAC, while Cazenovia fell to 5-8 and 4-4 in the conference. The Nittany Lions have another tough conference game coming up when they go on the road to face Lancaster Bible on Thursday.
