Box Score LANCASTER, Pa. – The Penn State Abington women's basketball team dropped its first conference game of the year as the Lady Lions fell to North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) opponent Lancaster Bible College 79-42 on Tuesday night.
Jessica Schmidt led Abington in scoring for the fourth time this season as the junior set a season-high with 20 points.
Penn State Abington falls to 1-3 (0-1 NEAC) while Lancaster Bible improves to 2-2 on the year.
Abington kept things close in the opening minutes of the game but could not keep up as the Chargers put together a 32-8 run over the next ten minutes of the first half to pull away. Katy Stover led Lancaster Bible with 29 points while Aubrey Folger and Sarah Heilenman contributed 9 and 8 points, respectively.
Schmidt grabbed a team-high 11 rebounds on the night while senior guard
Janay Winston chipped in with 15 points and five rebounds with a pair of assists. Senior forward
Alyssa Kaye pulled in eight rebounds and added a block and a steal on the night.
Abington will take the remainder of the week off for the holidays and will return to action on Wednesday, December 4
th as it hosts Gallaudet University in a NEAC conference matchup. Tip-off is slated for 7 p.m.
