Box Score Chambersburg, Pa. – The Nittany Lions women's soccer squad used a six-goal first half to earn their first North Eastern Athletic Conference victory of the 2013 season earlier this afternoon. Penn State Abington torched Wilson College by a score of 8-0, opening conference play with a victory for the first time since 2011. It was a great team effort for the women, with seven players combining to tally the eight goals.

Last season's leading scorer
Cindy Wade got things started just eight minutes into the game for the Nittany Lions (2-1, 1-0 NEAC) Â with her first goal of the season. Over the next nine minutes, Penn State Abington tacked on another three goals to extend their lead to 4-0 before the twenty-minute mark of the half.
Molly Wyman netted her first of the year, while the second goals of 2013 from
Mallory Mugnier and Wade put the game virtually out of reach.

Megan Murphy closed out the half with two more goals to give the Nittany Lions their 6-0 lead. In the second frame,
Ashlee Kohn continued the scoring with a goal of her own before
Jacqueline Alexander closed out the scoring with her second goal of the season to make it an 8-0 final over the Phoenix (0-3, 0-1 NEAC). Senior goalkeeper
Alyssa Kaye, this week's NEAC Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week, made two saves while earning her second shutout of the year.
