Box Score ABINGTON, Pa. – On Sunday afternoon, the Penn State Abington men's basketball team carried a nine-point lead into halftime only to see SUNY Cobleskill rally late in the second half and win 61-59 on a three-pointer by Brandon Smith with 38 seconds remaining in the game.

Max Alton had a shot to win the game as the buzzer sounded but his attempt would not go as the Nittany Lions suffered its second straight home loss and fall to 11-9 on the season and 8-5 in the North Eastern Athletic Conference. Cobleskill picked up its fourth straight win to improve 7-12 overall and 6-7 in the NEAC.

The Nittany Lions got out to a hot start shooting 43 percent from the floor in the first half while holding the Fighting Tigers to 30 percent to take a 29-20 lead into halftime.

The lead grew to as many as 12 points in the second half but Cobleskill continued to fight as it outscored Abington 13-4 in the game's final five minutes to steal the victory, 61-59.

Avery Barnes and
Mike Marvin each collected double-doubles with Barnes scoring 17 points while connecting on 7-of-9 from the field to go with a team-high 11 rebounds, as Marvin posted 12 points and pulled down 10 rebounds.

Alton scored three of his nine points from the charity stripe for the Blue and White, who finished the game shooting 42 percent.

Alexis Nunez and Brandon Smith led the Tigers with 19 points apiece while Smith led the squad with eight rebounds.
