WESTMINSTER, Md. – Penn State Abington's volleyball team dropped two contests Saturday afternoon at a tri-match hosted by McDaniel College. The Nittany Lions (2-7) fell to Goucher College, 25-15, 25-18, 25-17, before losing a 25-9, 25-15, 25-14 decision to host McDaniel.
Sophomore
Rachel Bohl (Philadelphia, Pa.) led the Blue and White in their opening match with eight kills and two service aces, while classmate
Victoria Lohman (Frederick, Md.) came up with 29 digs. Sophomores
Sam Amaro (Philadelphia, Pa.) and
Tiffany Watson (Fort Washington, Md.) chipped in with four putaways each as
Sam Nelson (Doylestown, Pa.) topped Abington with 11 assists.
In the second match against the host, Bohl led the squad once again with seven kills, while Lohman collected 21 digs for a combine total of 50 digs on the day. Sophomore
Cricket Lennon (Bethlehem, Pa.) was credited with 14 assists.
Abington returns to action on Tuesday, September 16 when it hosts Gwynedd-Mercy College for a 7:00 p.m. singles match.
