ABINGTON, Pa - The Abington women's basketball made history Tuesday night, getting their first NEAC playoff win since joining the conference, with the win over Gallaudet, 61-33. The women tie their single season win record with 20, a feat that hasn't been replicated since the 1981-1982 season.

Abington played suffocating defense, as they held the Bison to 23% shooting from the floor and only gave up one shot from behind the arc. Gallaudet's poor shooting was compounded by sloppy play on the floor as they gave up 21 turnovers.

The first half opened as a struggle for both sides, with defense dominating on the court. With a tight 6-4 lead for Abington, Keyes took over the game and led the Nittany Lions to a 13-0 run increasing their lead to 19-4 at the ten-minute mark.

Abington continued its dominating defense and stellar shooting, going into the break up 32-15.

The second half continued to be an offensive struggle for the Bison, but a
Kyra Lunsford (Vineland, N.J.) thee opened up a 15-6 run for the Nittany Lions.

Gallaudet continued to fight hard with physical defense, but were unable to cut the deficit getting outscored in the second half 29-18.

Senior guard
Stephanie Keyes (Huntingdon Valley, Pa.) had the hot hand on the evening going 10-of-18 for 28 points and four from behind the arc.  Junior
Janaiah Elum (Philadelphia, Pa.) also chipped in 18 points of her own.

Abington will travel to host SUNY Poly for the NEAC semi-final. Previously in the season the Nittany Lions fell to the Wildcats (18-7, 16-2 NEAC) 51-43. Tip-off begins at 2:00 p.m.
