LANCASTER, Pa. – The Abington men's basketball team's Cinderella run ended with a 79-69 loss to SUNY Cobleskill Saturday afternoon.
Senior guard
Max Alton led the Nittany Lions with 19 points in his final collegiate game for the Blue and White, while
Devin Jones and
Dequan Jackson chipped in 17 and 16 points, respectively.
SUNY Cobleskill came out in the first half hitting 54% of its shots and outscored Abington 37-24, but the Nittany Lions came out in the second half to make it a game. Late in the second half with four minutes remaining Jackson cut Cobleskill's lead to six. The Fighting Tigers' free throw shooting clinched the game and sent the Nittany Lions home.
Although the season ended for the men's basketball team, they still made history winning their first NEAC playoff game last week against Gallaudet.
