Women’s Basketball Wraps up Season with Loss to George Fox

NEWBERG, Ore - In front of a hostile home crowd at George Fox University, the Abington women's basketball team finished their season with a 83-25 loss to undefeated Bruins late Friday night, in Newberg Oregon.

George Fox pressured the Nittany Lions with the full court press the entire night and forced 31 turnovers from Abington.

Abington couldn't find any rhythm shooting through the entire game with the disruptive defense of George Fox.  From behind the arc, Abington went cold and couldn't hit a single three-pointer going 0-of-14 while being pressured by the Bruins.

Defensively, the Nittany Lions were effective in limiting the Bruins on the perimeter, holding George Fox to 25% shooting from behind the arc.

The 2014-2015 Penn State Abington Nittany Lions finish their season as the most successful in program history.  With a program record of 22 wins and its first NEAC title, the team made massive strides from its 5-16 finish in 2014.

Jessica Schmidt became the third member to the 1000 point club, and will leave Abington with a number of career and single season records.

The Nittany Lions will graduate stand outs Jessica Schmidt and Stephanie Keyes from the program.
