GRANTHAM, Pa - Down 6-2 in the seventh inning, the Penn State Abington baseball team generated a late comeback, topping Messiah College 9-8 on Tuesday afternoon.

Tom Ditro (Philadelphia, Pa) led the Nittany Lions offense going 2-of-4 with two runs and three RBIs, including a go-ahead RBI double in the eighth inning.
Ditro showed his versatility on the mound, going six innings with eight strikeouts.
Greg Mugnier (Abington, Pa) got his second win of the season for Abington, as he pitched the final three innings.
The Falcons jumped out in front with five runs in the first four innings, but Abington chipped away at Messiah's lead down 6-2 in the sixth inning.
Shaky pitching in the seventh inning gave the Nittany Lions two runs on walked in batters, cutting the Falcons lead to 6-4. An error by the pitcher allowed another two runs to score which tied the game.
The Nittany Lions broke the stalemate on Ditro's double and
Pat Fitzgerald added another run to the board with an RBI single to left center field.
Abington will host a critical conference doubleheader when they face Gallaudet Saturday afternoon at 1:00 p.m.
