Reading, Pa.- The Penn State Abington softball team advances to Sunday's tournament games with their 8-2 win over Wilson College Saturday.

Wilson would jump out to a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning, as Wilson's Rae Hilbish had an RBI single. The Phoenix would take a 2-0 lead heading into the top of the fourth inning.

Abington would strike back in the top of the fourth inning to pull even with Wilson at 2-2.
Greta Sheridan (Horsham, Pa.) would score off an error by Wilson's first baseman.
Sheila O'Hagan (Willow Grove, Pa.) would hit a sacrifice fly knotting the game at 2-2.

Abington would then explode for six runs in the top of fifth inning, as
Emily Mattes (Middletown, Pa.), O'Hagan, and
Breanna Lineman (Philadelphia, Pa.) all collected RBI's in the inning.

The big hit came when
Whitney DeLagol (Warminster, Pa.) smacked a two-run homerun to center field to give Abington the commanding 8-2 lead. Â

Michalea Drogalis (Croydon, Pa.) picked up the win for Abington. She scattered just three hits, and struck out six over 4.2 innings of work.

Abington is one of three teams that remain in the tournament.

With the win, Abington will now play the loser of the 10:00 a.m. Penn State Berks vs. Keuka game. First pitch is slated for noon tomorrow.
