Baseball Knocked out of NEAC Tournament on Day Two

UTICA, NY – On day two of the North Eastern Athletic Conference Tournament the Penn State Abington Baseball team dropped its first game against Penn College 9-5, and lost game two to Penn State Berks 13-3.

In game one, junior Anthony Pletscher (Hatfield, Pa.) led Abington with three of Abington's seven hits and one run scored for the Nittany Lions.

Shaking pitching in the first inning allowed Pat Fitzgerald (Warrington, Pa.) to move into scoring position and a ground out by Max German (Newtown, Pa.) gave Abington a 1-0 lead in the first.

The Nittany Lions added four more runs in the fourth inning highlighted by a Jason Roselli (West Deptford, N.J) two-RBI single to center field giving Abington a 5-3 lead.

The No. 4 seeded Penn College scored six unanswered runs to advance them to the Championship game held Sunday morning.

In the second game of the day the No. 3 seeded Berks avenged its loss from Friday with a huge offensive display. Abington could only muster three runs on nine hits.
