UTICA, NY – On day two of the North Eastern Athletic Conference Tournament the Penn State Abington Baseball team dropped its first game against Penn College 9-5, and lost game two to Penn State Berks 13-3.
In game one, junior
Anthony Pletscher (Hatfield, Pa.) led Abington with three of Abington's seven hits and one run scored for the Nittany Lions. Â
Shaking pitching in the first inning allowed
Pat Fitzgerald (Warrington, Pa.) to move into scoring position and a ground out by
Max German (Newtown, Pa.) gave Abington a 1-0 lead in the first.Â
The Nittany Lions added four more runs in the fourth inning highlighted by a
Jason Roselli (West Deptford, N.J) two-RBI single to center field giving Abington a 5-3 lead.
The No. 4 seeded Penn College scored six unanswered runs to advance them to the Championship game held Sunday morning.
In the second game of the day the No. 3 seeded Berks avenged its loss from Friday with a huge offensive display. Abington could only muster three runs on nine hits.
