BRYN ATHYN, Pa. - Senior
Devin Jones (Philadelphia, Pa) recorded his fourth double-double of the season, but it was not enough to defeat Bryn Athyn College, as the Nittany Lions lost 62-49.
The Nittany Lions fall to 3-12 overall and 3-6 in conference.
In the first half, Bryn Athyn gained an early lead, but sophomore
Spencer Bartron (Camden, Del.) kept the Nittany Lions close behind with eight points in the first ten minutes. Bryn Athyn maintained the advantage a strong defensive performance.
In the final five minutes of the first half,
Dequan Jackson (Philadelphia, Pa) hit two free throws and followed with a layup, scoring a seven point run to tie the game 25-25. Bryn Athyn answered with a five point run to hold the lead going into the break.
The Nittany Lions kept the game close in the second half until Bryn Athyn went on an eight point run over two minutes. Jones scored 11 of his 21 points in the second half, but the Nittany Lions could not overcome.
Abington will look to rebound when they host No. 18 Lancaster Bible College on Tuesday night at 6:00 p.m.
