ABINGTON, Pa. – In the final home game of the season the Penn State Abington women's basketball team came away with a 85-82 win over the College of St. Elizabeth on Saturday afternoon.

Janaiah Elum (Philadelphia, Pa.) and
Mallory Mugnier (Glenside, Pa.) were honored for their outstanding careers at Penn State Abington.

The Nittany Lions finish with their second best record since joining the NEAC, with a 17-7 mark overall and a 13-7 conference record. Abington has earned their second straight NEAC Tournament appearance after winning the Championship last year.

In her final home game Mugnier netted a career record 22 points from the floor and went 9-of-10 at the stripe. Freshman
Shayna Rodriguez (Philadelphia, Pa.) led Abington with 26 points.

In the first quarter, the Nittany Lions jumped out to an early 10-4 lead, but the Eagles would hang within four points in the first five minutes.

The Eagles responded in the next quarter cutting the Nittany Lions lead to two points, in the first minutes of action. Mugnier dominated the boards and drove through the lane for a layup to extend the lead again for Abington. Momentum drastically shifted to the Eagles when they streaked on an 18-4 run to take the lead going into the half.

The physical third quarter helped the Nittany Lions go into the bonus within the first five minutes of the period. Mugnier sunk four of Abington's seven points from the line, to cut the Eagles lead to one point.

In the fourth quarter, both teams traded leads in the first few minutes of play, but Mugnier helped the Nittany Lions hold on to the lead with clutch free-throw shooting to take the lead and outlast the College of Saint Elizabeth.

The Nittany Lions will find out who they will face off against in the NEAC tournament on Sunday after all games have concluded.Â
