ABINGTON, Pa. – After a two goal performance against Hunter College,
Hernando Villamil (Philadelphia, Pa.) followed with an another two goals in a 2-0 win for the Penn State Abington men's soccer team over Lancaster Bible on Wednesday evening.
The Nittany Lions improve to 2-1 for the season, and earned a huge conference win to open their year 1-0 in the NEAC.
Villamil leads the NEAC in goals with four for the season and has averaged a goal every 29 minutes on the pitch.Â
Defensively goal keeper
Jose Arroyo (Bayamon, Puerto Rico) kept another clean sheet and has yet to concede a goal in the 2016 season.
The Sophomore forward broke the deadlock in the 26
th minute when he took advantage of a defensive miscue, cut through two defenders, and placed a low shot to the left post past the keeper. Abington controlled the first half not allowing the Chargers to place a shot until 43
rd minute of the first half.
In the second half a long ball through the middle from
Edward Worthington (Philadelphia, Pa.) found Villamil in a one-on-one situation with the goalkeeper. Villamil finished his composed shot past the goalkeeper for his second goal of the game.
Abington will look to continue its strong form when they travel on the road to Penn College on Saturday afternoon at 2:00 p.m.
