Miller Leads Nittany Lions to 3-0 Win Over Cairn

LANGHORNE, PA – Two goals from sophomore Haley Miller (Hatfield, Pa.) helped the Penn State Abington women's soccer team pick up a 3-0 win over Carin University on Thursday afternoon.  Abington improves to 3-5 after the win over the Highlanders.

Miller netted two goals to lead the team with three for the season. After today's game junior goalkeeper Samantha Friend (Philadelphia, Pa.) became the programs all-time leader in saves, breaking Gabrielle Benedict's previous record of 182 set in 2012.

The Nittany Lions were off to a fast start when Miller broke away from the defense and netted her shot to the right corner in the 7th minute of action.  In the 22nd minute Miller eluded defenders again to score her second goal of the game and give the Nittany Lions the 2-0 lead over the Highlanders. In the second half Miller wasn't finished, in the 66th minute she slotted a perfect through ball to Michelle Latronica (Philadelphia, Pa.) for her first of the season.

The Nittany Lions will be on the road for two conference matchups this weekend starting off at Keuka College this Saturday at 3:00 p.m.
