LYNCHBURG, VA – The Penn state Abington's Cinderella season came to a close in Lynchburg, with a 3-0 loss to the Hornets to end their record breaking season.
The Hornets Jack Ashby broke through in the 11
th minute after he headed in a shot at the back post. Moments later the Hornets doubled their advantage when Abibi Osman placed a perfect pass for Jon Mackey that cut through the back line for an easy goal that tapped in off the post. Down 2-0 with 25 minutes off the clock
Michael Albers (Southampton, Pa.) recorded the Nittany lone shot on target, but it was stopped by the goalkeeper.Â
In the second half the Hornets added another goal to their total late in the second half to secure their spot in the NCAA Tournament Second Round where they will face Emory.
Abington finished with a record 15 wins and their first NCAA Tournament appearance in program history
