Abington Splits at Tri-Match

MORRISTOWN, NJ.- The Penn State Abington women's volleyball team traveled to the College of Saint Elizabeth on Saturday afternoon for NEAC matches against Morrisville State and Cazenovia College.

In the first match of the day, the Nittany Lions got swept by Morrisville State 25-16, 25-15, and 25-11. Junior Cortney Schwar (Annandale, NJ) led the team with 16 assists and freshman Eva Ashley (Marion, TX) racked up 10 digs for Abington.

Against the Wildcats, Abington was able to snap their conference losing streak by winning three straight against Cazenovia 25-21, 25-23, and 25-18. Senior Andia Anderson (Philadelphia, PA) led the Nittany Lions with 15 kills. Kiera O'Keeffe (Yardley, PA) and Angie Tabares (Hackensack, NJ) each had four service aces. Tabares also led the team in digs with 17. The Nittany Lions are now 1-6 in conference.

Abington will be back in action on Saturday October 13th when they travel to NEAC opponent Lancaster Bible for an 11:00 a.m. match.
