GLENSIDE, PA. – Six players hit double-digit scoring, but it wasn't enough for the Penn State Abington men's basketball team to power past Arcadia in an 89-75 loss on Sunday afternoon. The Nittany Lions fall to 4-5 after today's defeat.
Sophomore guard
Jay Fitzgerald (Philadelphia, PA) led the Nittany Lions with 17 points, and on the boards
Jordan Lomax (West Haven, CT) and
Pernell Ghee (Germantown, PA) each earned six rebounds respectively.
The Knights put up a strong first half performance shooting 67 percent from the floor and 75 percent from behind the arc. Abington kept the game close early in the half, but the hosts pulled away to a 20 point lead with only five minutes remaining in the half. In the second half the Nittany Lions tried to claw their way back in but couldn't get within striking distance.
The Nittany Lions will be back in action when they travel to the Lycoming Tournament to face off against the hosts on Friday January 4
th, at 6:00 p.m.
