MYRTLE BEACH, SC – The Penn state Abington softball team dropped a pair of games in the second day of their spring break tournament on Tuesday afternoon. Abington fell in the first game to Randolph College 6-2, and lost the second of the double header to Medaille 6-0.
The Nittany Lions struggled at the plate, but senior
Caitlin Brasier (Levittown, PA) recorded two hits on the day, including a double and an RBI single.
On the mound against Randolph College
Becca Dougherty (Churchville, Pa.) went all seven innings with only one earned run against her, but the Wildcats took advantage of multiple errors by the Nittany Lions.
In game two the Nittany Lions struggled at the plate with only two hits against the Mavericks.
Abington will look to rebound after a day off, and will continue the tournament on Thursday against The Sage Colleges at 9:30 a.m. and Eureka College at 1:30 p.m.
