AUBURNDALE, FL - Behind a massive day at the plate for 
Julio Aira IV (Miami Fla.) the Penn State Abington baseball team powered its way to a 12-2 win in seven innings, on Thursday morning. After the win the Nittany Lions improve to 4-5 for the season.
 
In the first inning freshman 
Ryan McCarty (Yardley, PA) kicked off the scoring with an RBI single. Later in the third inning Aira drove a sharp single to knock in two RBIs, which gave the Nittany Lions the 3-0 lead.  Up next 
Kyle Marshall (Fairless Hills, PA) rounded out the scoring for the inning with an RBI single.
 
In the top of the fourth Greensboro got onto the board with a two-out single to make the game 4-1.
 
The offense exploded in the fifth inning and tacked on another five runs.  
Paul Woodley (Levittown, PA) started the inning with an RBI single to drive in McCarty. Right after, Aira smacked a triple to drive in another run. Marshall continued the hitting streak with his RBI double, and 
Nick Yurchak (Bridgewater, NJ) earned his first RBI of the season with his single.  
Stevie Stevenson (Westampton, NJ) finished up the scoring for the inning with his deep ball to center field for the sacrifice fly.
 
Abington would go on to score another three runs to force a 10 run rule to tame the Pride.
 
The Nittany Lions are back in action tomorrow when they face off against DeSales University at 2:00 p.m.
