BRYN ATHYN, PA – The Penn State Abington women's tennis team posted its first 9-0 shutout of the season by defeating Bryn Athyn on Wednesday afternoon. After the win the Nittany Lions improve to 4-6 for the season and 3-1 in the NEAC.
The Nittany Lions scored easy wins in the first and second doubles match, but in the third match of the day,
Isabella Blackwell (Philadelphia, PA) and
Pamala Dayley (Twin Falls, ID) battled to a hard fought 9-7 win to complete the sweep in doubles.
Abington won handily in most of their singles matches, but
Fatoumata Cisse (Philadelphia, Pa.) faced a tough test, and passed with an 8-6 win at the fourth flight.
Abington will be back on the court at Kings College on Sunday afternoon.
