Nittany Lions Knocked Out of NEAC Tournament

KEUKA PARK, NY – In the first round of the NEAC Tournament the Penn State Abington women's lacrosse team traveled up to Keuka College, but couldn't pull off the upset.  The Nittany Lions fell to 3-12 overall close the season after their 23-8 loss to the Wolves.

Sophomore Jillian Stokes (Mayfair, PA) continued her phenomenal close to the season, leading the Nittany Lions with five goals in the game.  Right behind Sarah Eisele (Langhorne, PA) netted two goals for Abington.

The Wolves started the first half with the upper hand, scoring four goals in the first three minutes of action. Freshman Mason DeLarso (Flourtown, PA) broke their streak with her third goal of the season. The Nittany Lions netted another goal thanks to Stokes and cut the lead 4-2.   After a 8-1 run for the Wolves, the hosts were in control.  Stokes sparked the attack with three goals within two minutes, and Eiesle netted the last goal before the half to make it 14-7.

In the second half the Wolves shut down the NIttany Lions attack only allowing six shots for the entire half, with Stokes getting the lone goal.  Keuka College will move on in the NEAC tournament to face off against Medaille on Saturday.
