ABINGTON, PA- The Nittany Lions hosted NEAC opponent Penn State Berks on Wednesday evening while celebrating their Yellow Day game benefiting Thon. Abington defeated Berks 69-56, and improved to a perfect 3-0 in conference.

Abington captured the lead early in the first quarter going up 25-9. Freshman Lacy MacLachlin (Boyertown, PA) contributed to this lead by draining 3 consecutive three pointers within a two minute time frame. MacLachlin scored her season high of 11 points in tonight's performance.

Three other Nittany Lions scored in double digits including Shayna Rodriguez (Philadelphia, PA) with 26 points, Laquana Nagbe (Philadelphia, PA) 14, and junior Sydney Barrow (Philadelphia, PA) who supplied 16 points, 7 assists, and 8 rebounds for Abington.

32 of Abington's points came from in the paint, and the Nittany Lions were able to take advantage of scoring 40 points off of Berk's turnovers. The largest lead Penn State Abington had tonight took place in the 3rd quarter when they were up by a dominating 28 points.

Abington will host two NEAC opponents this weekend, starting off with Cazenovia College on Saturday Jan. 12 beginning at 1:00pm and Morrisville State College on Sunday Jan. 13 at 12:00pm. This weekend Penn State Abington's SAAC will be hosting the Bucks County Special Olympics before and during the men's and women's basketball games.
