Nittany Lions Score Win on Senior Day

ABINGTON, PA. – The Penn State Abington women's soccer team finished its season on a high note with a 3-0 shutout of SUNY Poly on Saturday afternoon. The Nittany Lions just missed the cut for the North Eastern Athletic Conference Tournament with a record of 6-10 overall and 4-6 in the conference.

The Nittany Lions shut down the Wildcats attack only allowing two shots the entire game with both coming in the second half.

Sophomore forward Taylor Perkowski moved into the top five scorers in program history with 19 career goals after her two goal performance today.

In the first half Perkowski earned her first goal of the game in the 21st minute curling her shot to the far post past the keeper. Abington continued to press but couldn't break through until Mary Kate Smith broke through in the 83rd minute with her third goal of the season. Moments later Smith headed a ball to the back post that was finished by Perkowski to seal the game for the Nittany Lions.

The Nittany Lions honored seniors Teresa Barker and Juliet Rossetti for their outstanding careers with Abington.
