ABINGTON, PA- Tonight the Nittany Lions made history in the Penn State Abington gymnasium with a 3-0 win over Gallaudet University during the NEAC First Round. With this huge win, Abington will advance to the NEAC Final Four for the first time in school history. The Nittany Lions improve their overall record to 17-15.

Cortney Schwar (Annandale, NJ) reached a personal milestone by breaking 2,000 assists in her Penn State Abington career. She remains the All-Time Leader in Assists with a total of 2,003.

The Nittany Lions took the first set from the bison 25-22. Late in the set, freshman
Gaby Shreve (Marshall, MI) delivered two perfect service aces to give Abington the 24-21 advantage.
Katharine Costello (New Hope, PA) then delivered the final kill to give Abington their first win of the night.

In set two, the Bison wouldn't go down without a fight. With the game tied at 24 a piece,
Jenny McAnaney (Maple Glen, PA) and Costello delivered back to back to back kills to escape with the 26-24 victory.

Abington completed the night with in a historic 25-21 sweep over Gallaudet. Sophomore Jenny McAneny led Abington with 16 kills and 16 digs. NEAC Player of the Week Katie Costello finished the night with 15 kills, 11 digs, and 3 assists.

Up next the Nittany Lions will travel Morrisville State to play the number two seed Penn State Harrisburg this Saturday Nov. 9 at 2:30pm.
