Abington Drops Fourth Conference Game in a Row to SUNY Cobleskill

COBLESKILL, NY- The Penn State Abington women's basketball team wrapped up their conference weekend in New York by falling to SUNY Cobleskill, 74-63. This is Abington's fourth consecutive loss in their last four NEAC competitions. The Nittany Lions drop to 8-6 in conference, and 11-11 overall.

Senior Shayna Rodriguez (Philadelphia, PA) led the Nittany Lions offense with 28 points, and 7 rebounds. Juniors Sydney Barrow (Philadelphia, PA) and Laquana Nagbe (Philadelphia, PA) each had 8 points for Abington. Angie Tabares (Hackensack, NJ) and Iman Richmond (Chicago, IL) drained 7 buckets a piece in today's perfromance.

Abington's offense struggled greatly in the first half, by making only 25% of their field goals. The Nittany Lions quickly trailed the Fighting Tigers 26-39 heading into halftime. Cobleskill's 13 point lead stemmed from rebounding and second chance points. The Tigers rebounded the ball 54 times and were allowed 22 second chance points by Abington's defense. In the beginning of the fourth quarter, the Nittany Lions bridged the gap by fighting to a 51-55 differentiation to the Tigers. However, Abington could not compete with Cobleskill's dominate inside posts.

Up next Abington will host the College of Saint Elizabeth on Wednesday February 13th, when the Nittany Lions will celebrate their Pink Game beginning 6:00pm.
