LANGHORNE, PA- The Penn State Abington women's tennis team battled with Cairn University on Saturday afternoon, but fell shy to the Highlanders in a close 5-4 match. The Nittany Lions fall to 0-2 on the season.
 
During doubles, Abington took home victories at their top two flights. Seniors Stephanie Jin (Bluebell, PA) & Isabella Blackwell (Philadelphia, PA) defeated their opponents 8-6 at flight No.1. At No.2 duo pair Michelle Ly (Shirley, NY) & Anna Kalinovskaia (Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan) fought hard in a tight 9-7 win.
 
The senior veterans Jin and Blackwell struck again during singles play by earning wins at the No. 2 & No. 3 singles with 6-0, 6-2 and 6-1, 6-4 victories. The Highlanders scored two of their points by winning by forfeit at No. 3 doubles and No. 6 singles.

Up next the Nittany Lions host McDaniel College on September 29^th for a 1:00pm match.
