Women's Basketball Concludes Season with 66-43 Victory over Cazenovia

CAZENOVIA, NY- The Penn State Abington women's basketball team concluded their season with a win on the road against Cazenovia College. The Nittany Lions defeated the Wildcats 66-43.
 
Two Nittany Lions earned double-doubles in tonight's performance including senior Laquana Nagbe (Philadelphia, PA) who dropped 18 buckets and grabbed 13 rebounds and junior Ashya Gaddy (Philadelphia, PA) who scored 13 points and collected 12 rebounds. Freshman Dakiya Daniels (Vernon Hills, IL) closed out her rookie season by earning a personal season best with 10 points.
 
In the first quarter, junior Iman Richmond (Chicago, IL) knocked down a huge three from behind the arc to tie the game at 9 a piece. Senior Alyssa O'Mara (Huntingdon Valley, PA) drove to the basket for a successful layup to give Abington the early 11-9 advantage to end the first. The Nittany Lions kept their foot on the gas in the second quarter by draining almost 50% of their field goals. Cazenovia's offense couldn't keep up with the Nittany Lions red hot shooting that allowed them to go into halftime with a twelve point lead.
 
Abington's offense continued to shine with help from Laquana Nagbe who knocked down two deep three's to bust open a 22 point lead. In the fourth quarter, Abington dominated in the paint by scoring all 16 of their points in the paint, allowing them to escape with the final 66-43 victory. Senior Sydney Barrow (Philadelphia, PA) ended her collegiate career with seven points, while fellow seniors Alyssa O'Mara (Huntingdon Valley, PA)and Angie Tabares (Hackensack, NJ) closed out their campaign with four baskets each.
 
The Nittany Lions conclude their 2020 season with an overall record of 9-15, and 7-9 in conference.
