Nittany Lions Fall to Wesley

DOVER, DE. – The Penn State Abington women's lacrosse team faced off against Wesley College, but fell to the Wolverines 20-3 on Saturday afternoon.

Despite the loss senior attacker Alynn Phelan netted a hat-trick to give her four goals for the season, and 85 for her career.

The Wolverines opened the game with a 6-0 lead in the first ten minutes of action, but Phelan fired her first goal of the game after a great pass from Maiya Tasaico.  Wesley increased their lead after another two goals. Abington responded after Phelan netted her second goal of the game with 11 minutes left in the half.  At the half the Wolverines held a commanding 12-2 over the Nittany Lions.

In the second half the Wolverines reeled off another 6-0 run before Phelan could finish the Nittany Lions scoring with her third goal with eight minutes left on the clock.

Abington will be back in action when they host the College of Mount Saint Vincent on Saturday March 14, at 1:00 p.m.
