AUBURNDALE, FL – The Penn State Abington baseball team wrapped up its season with a 7-3 loss to Beloit on Saturday morning. The Nittany Lions fall to 6-8 to finish the season.
Darrien Mogel led the Nittany Lions going 3-of-5 while
Ryan McCarty and
Jaden Himmelreich went 2-of-4 with a run scored and an RBI between the two.
The Buccaneers struck first after a single through the right side gave them a 1-0 lead.
Beloit added on two more runs in the third inning highlighted by a triple to left center field. In the fifth inning the Buccaneers extended their lead to five runs with a single to left field.
McCarty struck his pitch down the left field line for an RBI double to get Abington their first run of the game.
Later in the eighth inning
Demetrius Deramus rocked his pitch over the left field wall, but the Nittany Lions still trailed 5-2.Â
Paul Woodley added another a run with a sacrifice fly, but the Buccaneers responded with another two runs to put away the Nittany Lions in the bottom of the inning.
