Jaden Himmelreich hit a career milestone at the plate, but the Penn State Abington baseball team couldn't top Wheaton (Mass.) in a 7-2 loss on Monday evening. The Nittany Lions fall to 4-5 for the season.
Himmelreich had his 100
th career hit going 1-of-4 at the plate, but the Nittany Lions were led by
Sean Doherty hitting .500 with two hits and one run batted in.
Wheaton came out swinging with 13 hits scoring in the second, third, sixth and eighth inning. Â At the plate the Nittany Lions struggled only four hits and earned their runs in the ninth inning. Abington took advantage of an error by the shortstop scoing in the ninth inning and Doherty drove in another with his single to center field.
The Nittany Lions look to rebound tomorrow when they face another tough task in undefeated UMass Dartmouth at 3:30 p.m.
