AURORA, NY -- The Penn State Abington Nittany Lions finished their season on a strong note, defeating host Wells College Express, 65-38, in a United East Conference women's basketball match-up.
Penn State Abington notched an 8-16 overall record and were 7-9 in league action. Â

Seniors
Wynter Bess and
Lacy MacLachlin led the way on Saturday afternoon. MacLaclin got off to a hot start, making two straight three-pointers during their 14-2 opening run. Bess capped off the quarter with a jump shot to give the Nittany Lions a 16-10 lead. The Nittany Lions extended the advantage to 15 at the break and outscored Wells, 34-22, in the second half.

MacLachlin took over from beyond the arc, nailing six three-pointers on the day and finishing with 19 points. MacLachlin finished in fourth place all-time in school history with 125 career treys.

After her historic, 39-point performance yesterday at Morrisville, Bess once again led Abington with 24 points and seven steals. Her 80 steals on the year was second-best in school history, just five shy of the record.
Safara McIntyre had seven steals of her own, while
Angela Sanders plucked away five. Sanders took control of the boards, pulling in four offensive rebounds and a game-high 12 total rebounds. Sanders was also in double digits in scoring with 13 points on 5-for-9 shooting.

The Express (2-22, 2-14) were led by forward Morgan Adams, who had 14 points, seven rebounds, and three steals.
