MEDIA, PA – The Penn State Abington men's tennis team kicked off the spring portion of its schedule with a 7-2, non-conference victory at Penn State Brandywine.
The win improved Abington to 1-2 on the year while it was the first match for Brandywine.
Abington took three of the five singles' matches that took place and swept the two doubles' contests. The team also received forfeit wins at number six singles and number three doubles.
Freshman
Andrew Brown picked up his first collegiate win in singles action thanks to a 6-1, 6-1 triumph over Walidad Ghuman at the second position. Seniors
Philip Belotserkovsky and
Adam Moskal took care of things at third and fourth singles respectively. Belotserkovsky downed Luke DeAngelis, 6-1, 6-4, while Moskal had lost two total games in a triumph over Jason Li.
In doubles' action, Belotserkovsky and
Adrian Condes came away with an 8-4 win at the top flight while Brown and Moskal had an 8-1 score at the second spot.
Penn State Abington returns to action on Thursday, March 17 when it travels to Alvernia University for a non-conference match.
