Cheerleading Takes First Place at Garnet Valley Competition

Abington, Pa. – The Penn State Abington Cheerleading team took first place at the Garnet Valley High School Cheerleading Competition this past Saturday.

The Nittany Lions took home first place after receiving high scores in Crowd Leading and in Pyramids. The team received zero deductions in their routine and hit all of their stunts.

"I'm very proud of all the hard work our team has put in this season," said head coach Angelica Agosto. "It's not easy to jump back into competitive cheerleading after a four-year hiatus. They had to learn to work together as a team again, which is exactly what they did on Saturday. We hope this opens the door for more colleges in the area to start competing and can't wait for our next event!"

Abington will compete next on Saturday, Feb. 4 at the Garden State Championship in Lincroft, N.J.
