Abington Falls to Penn College in United East Divisional Quarterfinals

Williamsport, Pa. – The Penn State Abington women's soccer team saw its season come to an end after falling to Penn College, 4-0, in the United East Conference (UEC) Volt Division quarterfinals on Saturday afternoon at UPMC Field.  The third-seeded Wildcats will now advance to the divisional semifinals and face second-seeded Penn State Harrisburg.

How It Happened
 
* Penn College scored a pair of goals in each half.  The first set came early in the opening half.  Kaelynn Sheetz scored her 24th goal of the season in the 10th minute to give the Wildcats a 1-0 lead.  Less than five minutes later Cassie Johnson doubled the lead with a goal in the 14th minute.
 
* The Wildcats scored both its second half goals in the 53rd minute with Billiegean Hennessy and Sara Darlington each collecting goals.
 
Inside the Numbers
 
* Sophomore goalkeeper Rachel Wilfrid made a season-high 10 saves for the Nittany Lions.  She finishes the season with 70 saves; two shy of her season-high set a year ago.  With her 10 saves on the afternoon, Wilfrid now has 142 in her career and in the process surpassed Greta Sheridan for fourth place in the program's record book.  Sheridan totaled 140 saves from 2014-2017.
 
* Freshman Abby Brunnell led the team with two shots, while senior Grace Burns totaled the team's lone shot on-goal.
 
All-Time Series
Today marked the 11th meeting between Abington and Penn College since the start of the 2014 season.  The Nittany Lions are now 3-7-1 versus the Wildcats in the all-time series.
 
Abington in the Postseason
The Nittany Lions were making their eighth appearance in the postseason and their first since 2017.  Abington is now 4-5-3 all-time in the NEAC/United East Tournament.
