SAAC Adopts Family for Holiday Season

Abington, Pa. – The Penn State Abington Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) started spreading holiday cheer as the student-athletes collected and wrapped holiday gifts for a local family through the efforts of The Breathing Room Foundation in part of its Holiday Giving Program.

Earlier in the week members of each Abington varsity and club sports program gathered to wrap gifts for a local family that is actively going through cancer treatment or is in need of support during the holiday season. The Nittany Lions have teamed up with The Breathing Room for the past seven years joining the efforts of the Holiday Giving Program.

"This annual partnership and event with The Breathing Room is important to SAAC and is a way to give back to a family in our local community affected by cancer," said SAAC President Taylor LaPage. "So many of us have close family and friends who have in some way been affected by the disease, and to be able to make a family's Christmas better in some way, we are extremely happy to help!"

The Breathing Room Foundation provides individualized care and support to families affected by cancer by addressing their most critical needs so that they can concentrate their efforts on regaining their physical health.
