How It Happened

* Marable hit a jumper at the 4:30 mark to make the score 14-12 and then on defense came up with a clutch blocked shot leading to another jumper on the offensive end to tie the game at 14-14.

* Outside a timeout, the Shoremen grabbed the lead at 17-14 after a three-pointer by Nolan Waldon.  The Nittany Lions responded on their next possession with a three by senior Myles Haynes to tie the game once again at 17-17.

* Both teams exchanged baskets before Marable capped the scoring with a three-pointer to close out the half with the Nittany Lions ahead, 22-19.

* In the second half the Nittany Lions led by as many as seven points when Marable hit a jumper to make the score 34-27 at the 14:47 mark.  However, over the next four-plus minutes the Shoremen went on a 9-2 run to tie the game at 36-36.

* Washington's Davis Bland hit a three-pointer with less than eight minutes to play to break a 38-38 tie.  The Shoremen pushed their lead to seven (51-44) when Bland connected on another three-pointer at the four-minute mark.

*  The Nittany Lions cut the lead to three points (54-51) when Pineda drained a three-pointer with :15 seconds to play. However, the Shoremen followed with a pair of free throws on their next possession to push the lead to 56-51 after Ethan Schwantes made both attempts.
