Abington Falls to Seahawks in United East Championship Game

St. Mary's City, Md. – The Penn State Abington men's soccer team's championship run came to an end on Saturday afternoon at Jamie L. Roberts Stadium as the Nittany Lions fell short to top-seeded St. Mary's College (Md.), 2-0, in the United East Conference (UEC) Championship game.

How It Happened
 
* St. Mary's scored the game's first goal in the 38th minute to break a scoreless tie right before the half.  Alex Ochman connected on his fourth goal of the season to give St. Mary's a 1-0 lead.
 
* Senior goalkeeper Brendan Werner kept it a one-goal game with his fourth save of the half off a shot by Franco Reyes in the 40th minute.  Werner finished the game with seven stops.
 
* The score remained 1-0 until the 82nd minute when the Seahawks doubled their lead.  Abdoul Anounkou converted a penalty kick to increase the lead to 2-0 with less than nine minutes to play in regulation.

* Werner totaled seven saves in the game to finish the season with 73; fourth most in a single season in program history.  He finished his career with 125 saves which ranks third-most in the program's record book.
