How It Happened

* Abington wasted no time lighting up the scoreboard as the Nittany Lions, as a team, hit for the cycle in the opening inning.  Senior Sean Doherty led the inning off with a triple to left-center field and was followed by a two-run homer by freshman Donato Incollingo.  The next three batters all reached on base hits and senior Eric Rollins completed the team cycle with a double that drove in junior Jake Fallers.  Freshman Gabe Marrero capped the scoring with a sacrifice fly that gave the Nittany Lions a 5-0 lead.

* The Nittany Lions increased their lead to 9-0 with four more runs in the second inning.  Rollins highlighted the inning with a two-run homer.

* Valley Forge made it a 9-2 game with a pair of runs in the top half of the third.  Abington got both runs back in the bottom of the inning and then some.  The Nittany Lions plated seven runners in the inning to take a commanding 16-2 lead.  Doherty drove in a pair of runs with a two-run double before the Nittany Lions loaded the bases.  Senior Montana Milward cleared them with a grand slam over the left field fence.  Abington scored all seven runs with zero outs in the inning.

* Abington added two more runs in the bottom of the fourth as its lead swelled to 18-2.  Fallers drove in a run with a ground-rule double, while Milward pushed across senior Shane Fillman with a sacrifice fly for the team's final run.

* Valley Forge scored a lone run in the sixth inning for its third run of the game.
