How It Happened

* Abington outshot the Mighty Macs, 12-5, in the second half with five of those shots being on-target. The Nittany Lions' final on-target shot came in the 81st minute off the foot of senior Madison McDowell.  McDowell tallied her fourth goal of the season to double the Nittany Lion lead at 2-0.

* The Nittany Lion defense held the Might Macs to just one shot in the final 20 minutes of the game.

Inside the Box Score

* Senior Rachel Wilfrid made seven saves on the afternoon, including five in the opening half.  The shutout victory marked her second of the season.  With her seven saves, Wilfrid is two stops shy of tying Gabrielle Benedict for second most saves in program history.  Benedict made 182 saves from 2011-12.

*McDowell is also inching closer to rewriting history.  With her goal in the 80th minute, McDowell now have 26 career goals, currently tied for third all-time with Brittany Middleton. She's one goal shy of second place (Mallory Mugnier - 27) and two away from tying former teammate Grace Burns for the most goals in program history with 29.  McDowell also inched closer to the program's all-time scoring record of 69 points set by Michelle Latronica.  McDowell now has 61 career points becoming just the fifth player in program history to register 60-plus points in a career.

* Abington held a 7-0 advantage on corner kicks; one shy of the team's season high of eight set earlier this week at Gwynedd Mercy.  Abington has totaled 15 corner kick opportunities in its last two games.  In their prior five games, the Nittany Lions had 12 all together.

All-Time Series
Today marked the eighth meeting between Abington and Immaculata since the start of the 2013 season.  The Nittany Lions are now 5-3 versus the Mighty Macs snapping a three-game losing streak in the all-time series.
