Abington Downed by Chargers in United East Action

Lancaster, Pa. – The Penn State Abington men's basketball team suffered a United East Conference (UEC) setback at Lancaster Bible College by the score of 93-63 on Wednesday night at the Horst Athletic Center.

How It Happened
 
* A 16-0 first half run by Lancaster Bible turned out to be the difference in the game.  With the score tied 9-9 at the 15:05 mark, the Chargers went on to score 16 unanswered points to lead 25-9 by the midway point of the half.  Lancaster Bible finished the half with a 43-21 advantage.
 
* After shooting nearly 50-percent from the field in the first half, the Chargers shot 46.6-percent in the second half and totaled 50 points in the half.
 
Inside the Box Score
 
* Freshman Ryan Black scored a season-high 13 points off the bench as he shot a perfect 5-of-5 from the field, including 3-of-3 from three-point range. 
 
* Freshman Don Hairston also scored 13 points for the Nittany Lions.  Hairston totaled five rebounds and two assists to go along with three blocks and a steal on defense.
 
* Freshman Jahad Marable also finished in double-figures as he added 11 points and a team-high seven rebounds. 
 
* For Lancaster Bible, Grant Sareyka, Connor Storr and Camden Hurst all scored 14 points.  Storr grabbed a game-high nine boards and had four steals on defense.
 
All-Time Series
Tonight marked the 28th meeting between Abington and Lancaster Bible since the start of the 2011-12 season.  The Nittany Lions are now 6-22 versus the Chargers in the all-time series.
 
Next Up
Abington returns to action on Saturday, Jan. 25 as the Nittany Lions host Penn State Harrisburg in a United East contest.  Tip-off from the Abington Athletic Building is set for 3 p.m.
