Abington Opens Season Against Rutgers-Camden

Abington, Pa. - The Penn State Abington women's tennis team opened the fall portion of the 2025-26 season against visiting Rutgers University-Camden on Saturday afternoon at the Abington Tennis Courts on campus.  The Scarlet Raptors defeated the Nittany Lions, 7-0.

How It Happened

* Rutgers-Camden started the match with a 1-0 lead after capturing the team point in doubles competition.  The Scarlet Raptors won all three matches by identical 6-0 scores. 

* In singles action, Rutgers-Camden swept the competition to record all six team points.  

All-Time Series
Today marked just the second meeting between Abington and Rutgers-Camden and the first since the 2018-19 season.  Abington is now 1-1 versus the Scarlet Raptors in the all-time series. 

Next Up
Abington returns to action on Saturday, Oct. 4 as the Nittany Lions host Eastern University in a non-conference contest.  Match time is set for 12 p.m.
