How It Happened

* The Abington defense limited Cairn to just two shots in the game; one in each half.  In turn, it allowed the offense take control of the game.  The Nittany Lions finished with 21 shots and pressured the Highlanders with 14 in the first half alone.

* One of those 14 first half shots finally found the back of the net in the 29th minute as sophomore Meghan McGinly connected on her team-leading fifth goal of the season to break the scoreless tie.  Junior Nayeska Ravelo and sophomore Kaitlyn Frank were credited with assists on the score.

* Abington nearly doubled its lead before the half was over.  In the 41st minute back-to-back shots by sophomore Ice Longenbach and McGinly were stopped keeping the score at 1-0 heading into halftime.

* The Nittany Lions increased their lead to 2-0 late in the second half.  Frank scored an unassisted goal in the 69th minute marking her fourth goal of the season.
