How It Happened

* Back-to-back singles by junior Cory DiMario and senior Shane Fillman in the opening inning setup the first three runs of the game for the Nittany Lions.  Senior Jake Fallers hit a sacrifice fly to left field to score DiMario before sophomore Donato Incollingo cleared the bases with a two-run homer to give Abington an early 3-0 lead.

* The Shoremen got two of those runs back in the bottom of the first thanks to a hit batsman with the bases loaded followed by a sac fly to cut the Abington lead to 3-2.

* Abington made it a two-run game in the second.  Fillman connected on his second base hit in as many at-bats to drive in junior Paul Figueroa who led the inning off with a single.

* The scored remained 4-2 in favor of the Nittany Lions until the bottom of the fourth.  Washington plated four runners in the inning, including the final two on a wild pitch and a fielding error by the Nittany Lions.  The Shoremen led, 6-4, by innings end.

* The Abington offense managed just one hit from the third inning on and only had two base runners the final five innings.

* The Shoremen scored another three runs in the bottom of the sixth with Scooter SanFilippo highlighting the inning with a two-run double.  Washington had a single run in the seventh and two more in the eighth.
