How It Happened

* Abington trailed 50-35 at the half and saw its largest deficit of the game come in the opening moments of the third quarter when a basket by Rajena Guettler gave the Bison a 17-point (52-35) advantage.

* A quick 7-0 run by the Nittany Lions capped by a three-pointer from sophomore Amirah Hackney made it a 10-point game at 52-42.

* Later in the third quarter, Abington cut the deficit to single digits and trailed 61-53 with 4:27 remaining. Back-to-back baskets by sophomore Kylie Frey brought the Nittany Lions to within three-points at 61-58.

* Frey drained a three with less than three minutes to play in the third as Abington trailed 63-61.  However, the Bison went on a quick 8-0 run to expand their lead to 70-63 in the final minute before ending the quarter with a 71-65 advantage.

* In the fourth quarter, Gallaudet increased its lead back to double-figures and led 81-69 at the eight-minute mark. Abington once again rallied and cut the deficit down to five points thanks to a three-pointer by sophomore Amina Reid with less than four minutes to play.  Reid's three made the score 86-81.  That would be as close as the Nittany Lions would get as the Bison held off Abington for the victory.
