How It Happened

* A five-run second inning was all the offense Torpey would need as Abington jumped out front of Brandywine early in the game.  The first three batters of the second inning reached base and was followed by a bases loaded walk by senior Garrett Garofalo and then a sacrifice fly by junior Paul Figueroa.  Three batters later senior Shane Fillman cleared the bases with a three-run double to left-center field to give Abington a 5-0 lead.

* Abington added a run in the third after a run-scoring double by Garofalo.  The Nittany Lions pushed across three more in the fourth with seniors Gaetan Grandelli and Josh McGee each recorded run scoring hits.

* Brandywine scored single runs in the third and fourth innings. Daniel Horowitz forced home a run on a ground out in the third, while Miguel Rodriguez had an RBI single in the fourth.

* Torpey closed out the game with a three-pitch ninth inning retiring all three batters on one pitch.
